Vazquez To Head WTIC-WCCT Marketing

The veteran creative services director will oversee marketing, branding and creative services at Tribune’s Fox-CW duopoly in Hartford, Conn.

Tribune Broadcasting today named Henry Vazquez VP-director of brand and digital development for its duopoly in Hartford-New Haven, Conn. (DMA 30), WTIC (Fox) and WCCT (CW).

Vazquez will oversee all aspects of the stations’ marketing, branding and creative services. He will join Tribune on April 17 and report to Jon Hitchcock, the stations’ VP-GM.

Vazquez joins Tribune from KLAS Las Vegas where he was creative services director. Previously, he was the promotions manager, news and on-air for WCAU Philadelphia, a position he was promoted to. He has also served producer stints for WCAU, KYW and WPVI in Philadelphia.

Vazquez began his career as a creative services assistant at WPIX New York. To date, Vazquez has garnered 11 Emmy Awards and a Promax Gold for his creative work.

Vazquez holds an MBA from the Erivan K. Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University, and a B.A. in mass communications from Lehman College of the City University of New York. He also serves as an adjunct professor for the MS/MBA program in television management at Drexel University, and was a frequent lecturer at Temple University.

Vazquez is a member of several industry organizations including National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, PromaxBDA and serves on Saint Joseph’s University MBA Alumni Advisory Committee.
