WDJT Ups Eric Steckling To Assistant News Director

Weigel Broadcasting-owned CBS affiliate WDJT Milwaukee (DMA 35) has promoted Eric Steckling to assistant news director. Steckling has been with the station since October 2014 as the evening executive producer.

Before coming to Milwaukee, Steckling was a news producer at WHDH Boston and prior to that was an executive producer at WCCU-WICD Champaign, Ill.

He also worked at WLOS Asheville, N.C. and has experience in sports production, serving as the women’s basketball announcer for Boston College, a producer for Northeastern University and part of the Ivy League Digital Network streaming crew at Harvard University.

Steckling has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
