WFXT Names Brendan Fitzgerald Sports Anchor

Fox O&O WFXT Boston (DMA 7) has added Brendan Fitzgerald to its sports team. He will be sports anchor for the weekday 6, 10 11 p.m. newscasts.

Most recently, Fitzgerald was weekend sports anchor/sports reporter for KGBT Harlingen, Tex., for the past two years. Prior to that, he was sports director of KCWY Casper, Wyo. Previously, he was sports producer/news associate producer at KTVK Phoenix.

Earlier in his career, he was sports anchor/reporter for Newswatch 16 in Ithaca, N.Y. Fitzgerald began his professional career as play-by-play announcer for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. A graduate of Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications, Fitzgerald holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a broadcast concentration and a minor in writing.
