WGHP To Host 6th Congressional District Debate

Tribune-owned Fox affiliate WGHP Greensboro, N.C. (DMA 46), and the Greensboro News & Record will host the only live televised debate between congressional candidates Laura Fjeld (D) and Mark Walker (R), on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. The debate will be held at the WGHP studios in High Point.

In addition to airing live on WGHP, the debate will be live streamed on www.myfox8.com and www.news-record.com.

Questions to the candidates will come from a panel of WGHP anchors Katie Nordeen and Bob Buckley, and News & Record Editorial Page Editor Allen Johnson and political reporter Joe Killian. WGHP Senior News Anchor Neill McNeill will serve as moderator.

“For the first time in nearly 30 years, the Sixth District will have a new representative in Congress. We are thrilled to be able to broadcast the only live debate and less than a week before the election,” said Jim Himes, president-GM of WGHP.
