WHO Des Moines Adds Michael Admire To Sports

Local TV-owned NBC affiliate WHO Des Moines, Iowa (DMA 72), has hired Michael Admire as a sports photographer/reporter/anchor. Admire comes to WHO from KOAM Joplin, Mo. Admire replaces Chris Hassel who left for ESPN in January.

Originally from Lee’s Summit, Mo., Admire earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Pittsburg State University in May 2011. He interned at Time Warner Metro Sports KC, Preps KC and Fox 4 Kansas City Sports.

In addition, sports anchor/reporter John Sears has been promoted to weekend sports anchor. Sears came to WHO in July 2012 after nearly six years of sports anchoring/reporting at KCRG Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Prior to that, Sears spent a year at KMEG Sioux City, Iowa, and a year at KRCG Jefferson City, MO.

Sears graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in journalism and communications.
