‘Wilkos,’ ‘Springer’ Name Co-Exec. Producers

Selina Santos today was named co-executive producer of NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution’s The Steve Wilkos Show and Kerry Smith has been named co-executive producer of NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution’s The Jerry Springer Show.

In making the announcement, Rachelle Wilkos, executive producer of both programs, said: “Selina and Kerry are two of the most creative, intuitive and talented producers in daytime television.  They are terrific leaders and have been invaluable in the ongoing success of Jerry and Steve’s shows.”

Santos had been the supervising producer of Wilkos since the show premiered in 2007.   Previously, she was the senior producer of The Jerry Springer Show from 2004 to 2008. She was a coordinating producer from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, she was a producer.  She started at Springer in 1998 as an associate producer and was promoted to producer in less than a year.

Before joining Springer, Santos was an account executive at Telemundo from 1998 to 1999.   She began her career in television at Prime Cable in Chicago where she was an ad sales executive. She holds a BA degree from Columbia College in Chicago.

Before being named co-executive producer of Springer, Smith was the show’s supervising producer since 2008. She started  at Springer in 1999 as an associate producer and was promoted to producer in less than a year. She held that position until she was promoted to senior producer in 2007. 

Prior to that, she was a producer at Media Broadcast Network, a cable television company, in Las Vegas. She holds a BA degree from The University of Las Vegas.

The nationally syndicated The Jerry Springer Show is in its 21st season and The Steve Wilkos Show is in its fifth season.
