WLS And WGBO Schedule 2 Political Debates

In run-up to the March 15 primary election, ABC O&O WLS Chicago (DMA 3) will present two live debates.

WLS will partner with the League of Women Voters of Illinois and Univision Chicago (WGBO) to present hour-long, commercial-free debates between the Democratic candidates running for U.S. Senate on Friday, Feb. 19, and Cook County State’s Attorney on Friday, Feb. 26.

Both debates will be available live at 7 p.m. on abc7chicago.com and the station’s 7.2 subchannel. The U.S. Senate debate will also be seen on WLS’ main channel at 10:35 p.m. on Feb. 19 and the Cook County State’s Attorney debate at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.

WGBO will air the debates on Feb. 21 and 28 at 10 a.m.

WLS political reporter Charles Thomas and WGBO news anchor Erika Maldonado will serve on the panel questioning the candidates.
