WMAQ Names Holt, Brooks 11 A.M. Anchors

NBC-owned WMAQ Chicago (DMA 3) has named Stefan Holt and Marion Brooks anchors and Byron Miranda meteorologist of the new one-hour NBC 5 News at 11 a.m., beginning Monday, Sept. 8.

Miranda is returning to WMAQ as a member of the NBC 5 Storm Team. In addition to his role at 11 a.m., he will provide weather related field reports. Miranda was the station’s weekday morning meteorologist from 1998 until 2002.

He currently is meteorologist at NBC’s KNBC Los Angeles. Prior to that, he has also worked at stations in San Diego, Houston, and Sacramento, Calif., as well as at CNN.

Stefan Holt also anchors NBC 5 News Today from 4:30 to 7 a.m. weekdays and Marion Brooks is the current anchor of the NBC 5 News at Noon.

Beginning September 8, Days of Our Lives moves to noon, followed by the premiere of The Meredith Vieira Show at 1 p.m., a new season of Steve Harvey at 2 and an all-new season of Ellen at 3.
