WNCT Names Shayla Reaves Evening Co-Anchor

Nexstar’s CBS affiliate WNCT Greenville, N.C. (DMA 100), has hired Shayla Reaves as co-anchor of the station’s weeknight evening news. She will co-anchor WNCT News 9 On Your Side at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. starting Thursday, Nov. 16.

In her new role, Reaves will join WNCT veteran anchor Ken Watling, Chief Meteorologist Jerry Jackson and Sports Director Brian Bailey.

Reaves comes to WNCT from WTVT Tampa, Fla., where she was a reporter and anchor of its morning show

Prior to that, she was a reporter-anchor in Columbus, Ohio. Earlier in her career, she was a producer-reporter in Louisville, Ky.

Reaves earned her degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
