WPIX New York Revamps A.M. Anchor Lineup

Tribune Broadcasting’s CW affiliate WPIX New York (DMA 1) today announced a new anchor lineup for the 4-6 a.m. hours of PIX11 Morning News, with Marysol Castro joining the station to anchor alongside Dan Mannarino weekday mornings beginning Sept. 9.

Castro, who was the traffic reporter for WPIX when it launched Morning News in 2001, will return to the station to anchor PIX11 Morning News from 4-6 a.m. Dan Mannarino, who has been reporting and fill-in anchoring for WPIX since 2011, has been promoted to anchor.

Castro has most recently been the weather anchor for CBS’s The Early Show and the weather anchor and features correspondent for ABC’s Good Morning America. Castro began her career in television as a reporter and anchor for News 12 The Bronx.

Castro holds a Master of Arts in journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in government and English from Wesleyan University.
