Wrobel Named WXYZ-WMYD Creative Services Dir.

Phil Wrobel, a TV marketing director with a background in news, has been named creative services director of ABC affiliate WXYZ, and MNT affiliate WMYD, Scripps Broadcasting’s duopoly in Detroit (DMA 12). His first day will be Oct. 6.

Most recently, Wrobel was the director of marketing at WTVR, the CBS affiliate in Richmond, Va.

Before moving to Virginia, Wrobel was the director of creative services for KARK-KARZ Little Rock, Ark. He was a photojournalist and promotions producer at KLRT-KASN Little Rock before being named the station’s promotions manager.  

Wrobel was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in communications. He went on to work as a photojournalist and chief photographer at WSYM Lansing, Mich.
