WSMV Weather Reporting Now On Radio

Meredith’s NBC affiliate WSMV Nashville (DMA 29) has partnered with WSM-FM, WWTN-FM, WQQK-FM and WRQQ-FM to deliver WSMV’s Pinpoint Weather Forecast on the radio.

“We’re extremely proud to announce that effective Jan. 9, 2012, Middle Tennessee will be able to hear Channel 4’s weather on these highly rated radio stations.” said WSMV VP-GM Doreen Wade. “This pairing of our powerhouse TV station with some of the biggest names in radio is a tremendous service to the people in our community.”

In addition to regular weather forecasts the radio stations will also be able to carry WSMV’s coverage of severe weather during extended outbreaks of tornados or other serious weather events.

“WSMV has just unveiled the most powerful, highest-definition weather radar in Middle Tennessee,” said Matthew Hilk, WSMV news director. “Channel 4 is the only television station with live, real-time radar data, and now radio listeners will reap the benefits while on the go.”
