Yunji de Nies Joins KITV Honolulu As Anchor

Former ABC News White House Correspondent Yunji de Nies joins Hearst-owned ABC affiliate KITV Honolulu (DMA 71) in September. The Hawaii-raised de Nies will co-anchor the 6 p.m. news with Paula Akana and the 10 p.m. news with Kenny Choi.

During her time with ABC News, de Nies reported for ABC’s World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, Nightline and Good Morning America, covering the presidencies of both George W. Bush and Barack Obama. She also lived and worked in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, reporting on the storm and its aftermath.

De Nies has a degree in political science from Yale University, where she graduated with honors, and a master’s degree in journalism from University of California at Berkeley.
