KTVB Digital Tops Quarter-Billion Pageviews

The Gannett-owned NBC affiliate in Boise, Idaho, reports record growth on social and mobile in the past year.

In an unprecedented year of growth for the digital news destinations of Gannett’s NBC affiliate KTVB Boise, Idaho (DMA 110), the KTVB Digital Network grew page views, unique visitors and time spent, while social media reach climbed to market-leading new heights. Together, the station said, the KTVB Digital Network generated over a quarter-billion page views in 2013.

KTVB.com grew by 3% to a total of 134 million page views in 2013, averaging over 11 million page views per month.

On mobile, KTVB’s family of apps surpassed 190,000 total downloads. Together, the apps generated traffic of 113 million page views in 2013, an increase of well more than double (135%). The KTVB Idaho News app, KTVB HD iPad app, Bronco Roundup app, ID Lotto app and Idaho Weather apps all saw double or triple digit growth. When combined, KTVB’s Web and mobile platforms generated 247 million page views, a new record, according to the station.

On social media, KTVB’s “everywhere” brand provides constant news updates across emerging platforms to give users access to news, weather and sports whenever and wherever they want it. KTVB’s Idaho News Facebook page is the state’s most popular in any category, with more than 68,000 fans, the station says. When the pages for individual anchors, reporters and brands are included, KTVB has more than 120,000 total fans on Facebook, an increase of 51% over year-end 2012.

On Twitter, @KTVB is followed by more than 20,000 users. When combined with accounts for individual anchors, reporters and brands, KTVB has more than 35,000 total followers on Twitter, an increase of 50% over year-end 2012.

On Instagram, KTVB saw growth of 530% on the platform.
