KSBW To Launch Estrella TV On Subchannel

Hearst’s NBC affiliate in Monterey-Salinas, Calif., will debut the Spanish-language diginet from Liberman Broadcasting on ch. 8.3 on April 25.

 

Hearst-owned NBC affiliate KSBW Monterey, Calif. (DMA 125), will launch Liberman Broadcasting’s 24-hour Spanish-language network Estrella TV, on multicast ch. 8.3 starting April 25.

“Estrella TV offers contemporary and high-quality Spanish language programming,” said KSBW President-GM Joseph W. Heston. “We think it’s important to offer more diverse programming to our Spanish speaking viewers, and Estrella TV is among the fastest-growing Spanish language TV networks in the U.S.”

Featuring top Latin American talent, the new offering, branded as Estrella TV Central Coast, will deliver a lineup of game shows, talk shows, talent competitions, comedy, late night talk and music shows including Tengo Talento; Mucho Talento, a talent show featuring performers of all ages competing for cash prizes; Rica Famosa Latina, following the lives of a group of prominent “rich and famous” Latinas; and Noches Con Platanito, a primetime variety show in the tradition of latenight talk formats. In addition, Estrella TV Central Coast will air the wildly popular news magazine show, Alarma TV, and a primetime newscast, Noticiero Cierre de Edición, featuring award winning journalist Pedro Ferriz.

Estrella TV parent Liberman Broadcasting produces 56 hours of original television per week from its three production facilities in Los Angeles.

Starting with its April 25, launch, Estrella TV Central Coast can be seen over not only over the air on ch. 8.3, but also on Comcast ch. 625 and Charter 239.
