Telemundo said Monday that Adolfo Segura will leave his current role as vice president of news for its KVDA San Antonio, Texas, to become the new VP of news for its KCSO-LD Sacramento, Calif. (DMA 20), KNSO Fresno, Calif. (DMA 54), effective July 22.

In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the stations’ newsrooms, including all multiplatform news operations and performance. Segura will report directly to Jose Suarez, president and general manager of the Telemundo stations in Fresno, Sacramento and Utah.

An Emmy Award-winning news professional, Segura joins KCSO and KNSO after serving as VP of news for KVDA for the past six years. While at KVDA, he spearheaded the launch of several new newscasts across multiple time periods, and also oversaw the launch of KVDA’s border news bureau; a first for the San Antonio DMA, according to Telemundo.

Before this, Segura held other newsroom roles at Univision and Telemundo. He earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nevada.
