KMBC And KGKC Kansas City Set Weather Partnership To Serve Spanish-Speaking Residents

In Kansas City, KMBC, the Hearst Television-owned ABC affiliate, and KGKC, the SagamoreHill Broadcasting’s Telemundo affiliate, announced a new weather partnership today. The stations say the joint endeavor aligns with the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month and is aimed at providing crucial weather information to Kansas City’s Spanish-speaking community. “Until now, a daily local weather forecast in Spanish for Kansas City did not exist,” they said.

KMBC 9 First Alert Weather will pledge its advanced technology and precision forecasting models to KGKC as part of the partnership. This collaboration ensures that the “Primera Alerta” weather reports delivered to the Spanish-speaking viewers of Telemundo are as accurate and timely as possible.

“We’re thrilled to enter this partnership designed to keep more members of our community safe,” said KMBC President-GM Justin Antoniotti. “The power of combined resources will extend the reach of our weather efforts to ensure more local residents have access to vital information.”

“Telemundo Kansas City is fortunate to partner with Kansas City’s premiere weather team, KMBC 9 First Alert Weather,” said KGKC GM Steve Downing. “This partnership enriches the quality of our weather coverage, enabling us to deliver first-rate information to the Hispanic community.”
