Maria De Los Angeles Franco And Silvia Sanchez Join Telemundo Arizona As Multimedia Journalists

KTAZ Phoenix (Telemundo 39) has appointed Maria de los Angeles Franco and Silvia Sanchez multimedia journalists for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona. The newscast airs Monday through Friday at 11 a.m., 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and on weekends at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Noticiero Telemundo Arizona is simulcast on KHRR Tucson (Telemundo 40).

“We are very excited to add two experienced journalists to our award-winning team,” said Noe Gonzalez, vice president of news for Telemundo Arizona. “Maria de los Angeles’ background in covering politics will make us a stronger team to inform the Latino community on the most pressing issues that impact their lives from the state legislature,” he added. “Silvia’s great connection and understanding of the local community of Tucson after covering this market for several years will enrich our coverage and the way we bring the latest news to our audiences.”

Franco joins KTAZ after working as a news anchor at Globovisión in Venezuela from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, she worked as international news anchor for Canal I in Caracas, Venezuela from 2017 to 2019.

Franco earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies and law and a postgraduate degree in government and publics policies from the Central University of Venezuela.

Silvia Sanchez

Sanchez joins KHRR after working as freelance reporter for Estrella TV newscast and Radio Bilingüe in 2022. Previously, she worked as multimedia journalist covering the southern part of the state for Univision Arizona from 2018 to 2022.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Sanchez earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arizona, and she is a two-time Emmy winner.
