WBZ To Host First Broadcast Debate Of Boston Mayoral Runoff Candidates

Boston City Councilors Annissa Essaibi George and Michelle Wu will participate in their first, live, televised debate in Boston on WBZ-TV on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.

The debate will be streamed live on CBSN Boston and simulcast on WBZ-AM. WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller will moderate the live debate.

The debate will feature selected questions tied to the most pressing issues facing the city submitted by citizens to cbsboston.com and others developed by WBZ-TV news with input from community leaders.

The event will feature a format familiar to WBZ-TV viewers that “allows maximum opportunity for direct debate between the candidates,” the station said. Each candidate will have up to a minute to address each question followed by open-ended periods of discussion and rebuttal, with the option to question one another directly and raise other relevant topics.
