WLBT Expands Local Programming With ‘Today At 11 AM’

On Aug. 31, Gray-owned NBC affiliate WLBT Jackson, Miss. (DMA 95) debuted Today at 11 AM. The half-hour, weekday program features uplifting stories and trending news.

Today at 11 AM is led by faces from both WLBT’s morning and evening news teams, and will spotlight local businesses, offer consumer information, and introduce things to do — in and outside of the home.

“As we evaluated our programming options, we decided we had a great opportunity to provide more local programming,” VP-GM Ted Fortenberry said. “We hope our viewers enjoy this new program, and our continued commitment to provide and invest in additional LOCAL news coverage with Today at 11 AM.”

News Director, Mark Little, agreed. “There is no other station in Jackson offering a local show like this. The newsroom is excited at this chance to focus on unique news happening around us in Mississippi, as opposed to the usual hard news that fill the newscasts.”

Today at 11 AM airs every weekday following NBC’s Today and Today with Hoda & Jenna, and is followed by Jeopardy at 11:30 before WLBT Noon News.
