BOFA Hurricane Grants: $50K And Rising

The Broadcasters Foundation of America has already distributed $50,000 in emergency aid to broadcasters impacted by Hurricane Harvey and $100,000 in projected grants are slated for Hurricane Irma-affected broadcasters. The foundation raised $250,000 at its Celebrity Golf Tournament last week.

Fox’s WTTG, WDCA To Washington Burb

The Fox-owned duopoly will relocate its operation and studio facilities to a new complex developed by Carr Properties in Bethesda, Md., according to a letter of intent. The stations, which have operated from their current Wisconsin Ave. location since 1966, will move to a new home along the Metro’s red line in June 2021.

Murdoch Loses Challenge To CBS Ten Net. Bid

Lachlan Murdoch and Bruce Gordon have failed in their legal bid to block CBS Corp. from taking over the insolvent Ten Network. The two had argued that their own bid wasn’t properly considered, but the Supreme Court in New South Wales dismissed the challenge. Murdoch and Gordon have said they’ll appeal the decision.

A new survey of nearly 50 WAN-IFRA members finds Facebook is responsible for an average of just 7% of their digital revenue, and a quarter of publishers queried said they received no direct revenue from the platform at all. The report estimates that puts Facebook lower than other platforms including Google, YouTube and Spotify in terms of how much revenue is shared back with publishers.
