KQCA To Carry L.A. Chargers Preseason Games

Hearst Television’s MNT affiliate KQCA Sacramento, Calif., and the Los Angeles Chargers today set an exclusive multiyear broadcast partnership that makes KQCA the official TV home of Los Angeles Chargers football in the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto market.

As the Chargers’ official preseason television partner, KQCA will broadcast Chargers preseason games along with a locally produced pregame show. KQCA and co-owned NBC affiliate KCRA will supplement the games with live, local sports content throughout the season, providing fans an opportunity to get to know Chargers players and the team.

KCRA Sports Anchors Del Rodgers and Michelle Dapper will lead the station’s coverage, bringing viewers the latest Chargers news, highlights and features throughout the year. Super Bowl LVI is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2022, at the Chargers’ new home of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood and will air on NBC.

And for the first time, area viewers can watch preseason Chargers’ games in Spanish, on Estrella TV Sacramento, on KQCA’s 58.3 subchannel. The Chargers have long celebrated California’s rich Latino history, heritage and tradition by hosting and supporting various community events and league-wide initiatives such as Hispanic Heritage Month. The Chargers also participate in multiple community events and Play 60 football camps in Mexico City.

“The Chargers are a premier NFL organization with fans throughout California and this deal enables us to deliver games to our viewers in combination with regional insights,” said Ariel Roblin, KCRA-KQCA president-GM.  “We are excited to form this multi-year partnership and to familiarize viewers further with an outstanding team with close ties to this community.”
