Gina Oliva-Pinto Named Creative Services VP At WNBC New York

The former vice president of marketing at NBCUniversal Local, is tapped to be vice president of marketing and creative services at the New York flagship.

NBCUniversal Local today appointed Gina Oliva-Pinto vice president of marketing and creative services for WNBC New York.

A seasoned and award-winning marketer, Oliva-Pinto has more than 20 years of experience leading marketing and promotion campaigns for local and national broadcasters to reach English and Spanish-language consumers and audiences.

As a member of WNBC’s executive leadership team, she will report to Eric Lerner, WNBC’s president and general manager. Her first day is Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Lerner said: “Gina is a talented leader and marketer who has impressive broadcasting experience at local stations, syndicated programming and at the corporate level. She has also led successful multiplatform campaigns which grew NBC and Telemundo station audiences across the country. We cannot wait for Gina to continue this record of success at WNBC.”

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Oliva-Pinto will continue WNBC’s close collaboration with sister station WNJU (Telemundo 47).

She joins WNBC after filling marketing leadership roles at NBCUniversal Local, as senior director and most recently as vice president of marketing. Here, she was in-house marketing counsel to NBC/Telemundo owned stations’ creative services directors and led the marketing efforts for key division-wide community and corporate social responsibility initiatives including Project Innovation and Clear the Shelters. She joined the NBCUniversal Local division in 2017 from WABC New York where she worked as a marketing producer.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Before WABC, Oliva-Pinto worked at Warner Brothers TV Distribution’s affiliate marketing team supporting the Anderson Live and Bethenny shows. Before this, she worked at WNEW-WWOR New York and WFOR-WBFS Miami in promotion roles with increasing responsibility. She began her career at WBFS as a promo coordinator.

She is the winner of various PromaxBDA Awards, including a Gold Award for “Station Branding.” Oliva-Pinto is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism.
