Bitcentral Implements Streaming Solution For WISH

Bitcentral, a provider of efficient media workflows in the U.S. and Latin America, signed a three-year agreement to implement its production, cloud streaming and video monetization solution fuel at WISH Indianapolis, which took place this week.

WISH is a CW affiliate acquired by Circle City Broadcasting from Nexstar in 2019 as part of a $42.5 million transaction. Led by Indianapolis native and 30-year broadcast veteran DuJuan McCoy, Circle City Broadcasting operates WISH and WNDY there and sought a solution that could be quickly installed and uses the latest technology available to monetize broadcast content.

“The media landscape is constantly changing,” McCoy said, “and as we transitioned WISH-TV from its previous ownership, it was critical for us to find a cutting-edge video platform capable of delivering an amazing experience to our viewers — one that would keep them tuned in and engaged to our  streaming broadcasts.

“Fuel was the clear choice because it allows us to achieve all our goals from a viewership perspective while tapping into potential new revenue. We look forward to transforming the WISH-TV experience through FUEL and the guidance of the Bitcentral team,” he added.

Launched in August 2018, Fuel assists streaming providers, broadcasters and rights holders with providing digital viewers an exceptional viewing experience while maximizing advertising revenue.

Fred Fourcher, Bitcentral founder and CEO, said: “WISH-TV has been serving the people of Central Indiana for 65 years, producing and airing over 75 hours of local news and programming per week. They needed to stand above competitors and provide its viewers with a meaningful experience while finding new ways to monetize, which is made possible through Fuel.”
