Dana Hahn Named WTTG News Director

The longtime news director at WJBK Detroit is tapped by Fox to do the same at its Washington duopoly of WTTG (Fox)-WDCA (MNT), succeeding Phil Metlin who recently retired.

The Fox-owned duopoly of WTTG (Fox)-WDCA (MNT) Washington (DMA 8) on Wednesday named  Dana Hahn vice president and news director. Hahn will be responsible for overseeing all editorial, business and administrative functions for the stations. She succeeds Phil Metlin who retired in August.

Hahn has been VP-news director of Fox’s WJBK Detroit for the last 12 years. Before her appointment to VP of news in 2001, Hahn was assistant news director, a position she held for four years.  Hahn joined the station in March of 1996 as a broadcast operations coordinator. 

Prior to joining WJBK, Hahn was operations manager at the start-up 24 hour news channel, ChicagoLand Television News (CLTV).  She began her broadcast television career at WSJV South Bend, Ind.

Hahn holds a Bachelor of Arts in video communication from Madonna University in Livonia, Mich. Prior to that, she completed the technical broadcast program at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts.
