Estrella TV Unveils New Programs For 2018

Spanish-language television network Estrella TV today announced a new programming lineup to kick-start the new year.

Leading the new lineup is LOL Comedi Hi, a scripted comedy sketch show comprising a series of non-verbal visual comedy vignettes. The show will premiere Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. ET and will also air at 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Imported from Canadian broadcaster TVA, LOL Comedi Hi is shot in locations including Mexico, Morocco, Switzerland, Dominican Republic, Greece, Cuba, the U.S. and Quebec City, showcasing outlandish comedy skits without the use of verbal dialogue.

On Jan. 22 at 7 p.m., Estrella TV will debut Tarde Lo Conocí, a biographic series and CaracolTV original based on the life and time of Colombian Vallenato superstar Patricia Teherán. Starring Maria Elisa Camargo in the lead role, Roberto Urbina and Javier Jattin, Tarde Lo Conocí tells the life adventures of Teherán in the Vallenato music scene, a male-dominated music genre from Colombia, where she faces both professional and personal challenges that take her down a tumultuous and tragic fast life of fame and misfortune. The series will air Monday through Friday.

“We are excited about the new line of programming slated for this year on Estrella TV,” said Winter Horton, COO of LBI Media, Estrella TV’s parent company. “Comedy and human-interest stories continue to be a universal language and we are certain that these two new shows will capture the U.S. Hispanic audience’s attention.”
