Ex-Ailes Apprentice Named Fulltime FNC Reporter

Fox News Channel has hired 2011 Ailes Apprentice Program graduate Bryan Llenas as a full-time correspondent.

Based at Fox News Headquarters in New York, Llenas will cover breaking news, including the latest in the 2016 presidential election. In this role, he will travel to both the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention in July to provide reports as part of Fox News Latino’s (FNL) presidential election coverage.

In making the announcement, Roger Ailes, chairman-CEO, Fox News, said: “Bryan was a standout apprentice, and his dedication has been a key attribute to his impressive growth within the network. We look forward to watching him expand his career on a larger platform.”

Llenas started his career at FNC as an intern in the summer of 2009 and was hired full-time as a production assistant for FNL in 2010. That October, he was selected for the Ailes Apprentice Program (AAP), a year-long program founded by Ailes to promote diversity in the broadcast and cable journalism industry. Upon his graduation from AAP, Llenas was promoted to reporter for FNL, and later served as a general assignment reporter for FNC’s weekend programming.

During his tenure at FNL, Llenas has covered a wide array of stories including the 2016 presidential election, the 2013 papal conclave, the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the 2012 Republican National Convention. 

In addition, Llenas was a member of the inaugural launch team of FoxNewsLatino.com. He has shot, written and edited multimedia reports for FoxNewsLatino.com, FoxNews.com and for Fox affiliates on Fox News Edge.

Llenas received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and political science from the University of Miami.
