KCRA To Air Sacramento Mayoral Debate

Hearst-owned NBC affiliate KCRA Sacramento, Calif. (DMA 20), will host the first Sacramento mayoral debate live at the KCRA studios on Wednesday, April 6.

Former State Senate Leader Darrell Steinberg, Sacramento City Councilwoman Angelique Ashby, former boxing champ Tony “The Tiger” Lopez and community activist Russell Rawlings have agreed to participate in the live broadcast debate.

The debate will be moderated by KCRA anchors Gulstan Dart and Edie Lambert in front of a studio audience composed of community leaders and other stakeholders.

“Sacramento is a dynamic city that continues to gain momentum,” said KCRA News Director Lori Waldon. “This election season, voters want critical information about its future leadership. KCRA is extremely proud to host this Sacramento Mayoral Debate. Our station is committed providing an important forum for voters to gain the information and insight they need to make decisions when they cast their ballot.”

The debate is scheduled for April 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It will be followed by post analysis from 7:30 to 8, including voters’ reaction to what they just heard and saw in the debate.
