Nexstar Names Robert Bee WBRE-WYOU GM

The Pennsylvania broadcast veteran will lead the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa., NBC-CBS duopoly and their associated e-media and digital operations.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group today named Robert G. Bee vice president and general manager of NBC affiliate WBRE Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa. (DMA 54), and he will also oversee Mission Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate WYOU under Nexstar’s joint operating agreement.

Bee’s appointment is effective Jan. 20; he replaces Louis Abitabilo who is retiring.

An industry veteran with over three decades of experience, Bee has spent the last 18 years working in Pennsylvania broadcasting, most recently as director of sales for ABC affiliate WTAE Pittsburgh, a position he held since 2003.

Prior to that, Bee was general sales manager of WGAL Harrisburg, Pa.; WXIX Cincinnati; WLIG Long Island, N.Y. He has also held leadership positions at Independent Television Sales Inc. and Metromedia Television.

Bee is a graduate of St. John’s University and serves or has served the boards of several trade and affiliate associations for ABC, Fox, and the Association of Independent Television Stations.

Bob Bee was our rep 20 years ago and he was a fast moving, selling machine. We hope he does well at WBRE.
