He joins the Scripps ABC affiliate in Phoenix in January from KING-KONG Seattle where he is station manager.

Pat Costello Named KNXV News Director
Scripps-owned ABC affiliate KNXV Phoenix (DMA 13) has named Patrick Costello its news director, effective Jan. 7, 2013. He succeeds Joe Hengemuehler who left the station in June after a six-year tenure as news director.
For the past four years, Costello has been VP-station manager of KING, KONG and NorthWest Cable News in Seattle. Before that, he was executive news director for those stations for six years.
Prior to his time in Seattle, Costello was news director at WBBM Chicago and KUTV Salt Lake City. He also held news management positions at stations in Baltimore and Indianapolis. He began his career as a news photographer.
Costello received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. He is also a graduate of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business Executive Development Program.
