WALA Expanding Its Morning Newscast

The Mobile, Ala. Fox affiliate is adding an hour in the a.m., with news from 4:30 to 9 beginning Jan. 27.

LIN Media’s Fox affiliate WALA Mobile, Ala.-Pensacola, Fla. (DMA 59) announced today that it’s adding an hour to its rated morning newscast. The Fox 10 News morning show will be broadcast live from 4:30 to 9 a.m. beginning Monday, Jan. 27.

“Local content is so important to Gulf Coast viewers,” said Gary Yoder, WALA president-GM. “We are so excited to be able to respond to our viewers and customers with even more news programming focused on this region. As a news organization, we are in a unique position to expand our local morning presence and create new and better ways to serve our local news consumers.”

The new morning lineup will begin at 4:30 a.m. with Fox 10 News and continue until 9. Lifestyle and entertainment program, Studio 10, will take over the 9 a.m. hour replacing Bethenny, which moves to sister station WFNA (CW).
