WPMT Morning News Expands To Five Hours

The Tribune-owned Harrisburg, Pa., Fox affiliate’s news day will start at 4 a.m. beginning Feb. 13.

Tribune’s Fox affiliate WPMT Harrisburg, Pa. (DMA 43), is expanding its Fox43 Morning News. Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 13, the broadcast will start at 4 a.m. and run until 9.

“Five hours may sound like a long time,” said News Director David Silverstein, “but you must keep in mind that everybody has a different schedule in the morning. People wake up, get ready and get out the door. When you have a five hour spread of local news, as we now do, you’re the only station able to serve Pennsylvanians no matter what time their day starts.”

Fox43 Morning News features anchor Courtney Laydon, meteorologist Jeff Jumper and traffic reporter Chris Garrett. The broadcast offers four weather updates and four traffic reports every hour and also regularly features celebrity interviews and in-studio guests, spotlights local pets looking for homes, and shows off the best of the morning’s Twitter trends.
