WTTG Names Emily Miller Investigative Reporter

Fox-owned WTTG Washington (DMA 8) has appointed Emily Miller chief investigative reporter. Beginning April 28, she will contribute to all station newscasts, primarily Fox 5 News at 5, 6, and 10 p.m.

Most recently, Miller was the senior editor of The Washington Times’ opinion pages, where she wrote about national political issues and oversaw online commentary content.

Earlier in her career, Miller was a senior editor of Human Events and a columnist for AOL’s Politics Daily. Earlier, she worked in the D.C. news bureau of ABC News as the associate producer for This Week and for Good Morning America.

Miller began her career as a desk assistant in the Washington bureau of NBC News. She is the author of Emily Gets Her Gun, which examines the current national political debate over gun control (Regnery, 2013). In 2012, Miller was awarded the Clark Mollenhoff Award for her investigative reporting from the Institute on Political Journalism.

Miller has also served as a deputy press secretary at the U.S. Department of State during President George W. Bush’s administration and worked directly with Secretaries of State Colin L. Powell and Condoleezza Rice.

Prior to her appointment, Miller worked on Capitol Hill, where she directed and developed strategic communications to support the leadership’s legislative goals as Communications Director to then House Majority Whip Tom DeLay (R-Texas).

Miller graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in foreign service from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
