WWL Adds Keith Esparros As Executive ND

Gannett CBS affiliate WWL New Orleans (DMA 51) has named Keith Esparros executive news director, effective June 15. He returns to the station from KNBC Los Angeles, where he has been assistant news director at  since 2004.

He began his career answering phones at WWL and 11 years later, worked his way up to executive producer of the station.  

Esparros later took the position of managing editor at KNSD San Diego.  After two years there, he left for Los Angeles to become part of the team that created and launched KTTV’s Fox Morning News and Good Day LA broadcasts.

From there, he moved across town to KCAL as executive producer until he was offered an opportunity to lead a newsroom in his hometown, joining WVUE New Orleans as VP-news director at WVUE from 1997 to 2004 before returning to Los Angeles as assistant news director at KNBC.

Esparros is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans and is married to former WWL anchor/reporter Judy Storch.
