WXIN Names Kristin Kane A.M. News Anchor

Tribune Broadcasting’s Fox-CW duopoly of WXIN-WTTV Indianapolis (DMA 26), announced that Kristin Kane will be joining the stations as anchor of Fox59 Morning News beginning Dec. 9.

Kane joins the stations from Central Florida News 13, the Bright House Networks 24-hour news operation in Orlando, Fla., where she is an anchor/reporter. Kane will co-anchor FOX59 Morning News with Scott Jones weekdays beginning at 4 a.m., joining Angela Ganote, Ray Cortopassi and meteorologists Jim O’Brien and Ron Smiley.

Kane began her broadcasting career at WCBS New York and at News 12 Westchester in Yonkers, N.Y. From there, Kane was hired as reporter/producer at WICU-WSEE Erie, Pa. She then moved on to similar roles in Miami at WSFL and at KRIV Houston.

Kane is a native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and earned a B.A. in American history at Columbia University in New York.
