WXIX Adding An Hour To Its Morning News

The Cincinnati Fox affiliate is expanding its Morning News Xtra to run from 9 to 11 a.m. and lead in to Rachel Ray.

Raycom’s Fox affiliate WXIX Cincinnati (DMA 35) is expanding its news lineup. Beginning Sept. 10, the Fox19 Morning News Xtra will add an hour of local news and weather coverage. Morning News Xtra, which will now air from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., will continue to be hosted by Tracey Johnson, Frank Marzullo and Katy Morgan.

WXIX General Manager Bill Lanesey said: “This is all part of our new fall schedule and will provide an excellent lead-in to The Rachel Ray Show, which moves over to Fox19 on Sept. 17.”

With the Morning Xtra expansion, WXIX will be broadcasting 48.5 hours of local news and weather every week. “Our commitment to covering tri-state news and weather is strong, we listen to our viewers and this is what they want.” said WXIX News Director Matt Miller.
