The freshman daily pop culture syndicated show is extended through the 2018-19 season. It reaches 98% of the U.S.
Page Six TV, the half-hour daily pop culture program, modeled after Page Six, the iconic New York Post gossip column and website, has been renewed through the 2018-19 season by Fox Television Stations. The announcement was made today by Frank Cicha, FTS senior vice president of programming, and Ken Lawson, senior vice president and general sales manager, broadcast syndication, Twentieth Television.
Page Six TV from Endemol Shine North America and distributed by Twentieth Television launched on Sept. 18. Cleared in more than 98% of the country for its first season, the program is broadcast daily on the Fox Television Stations in 16 markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. It serves up gossip and news from entertainment, culture, the media, finance, real estate and politics.
Regarding the announcement, Cicha said: “Page Six TV fits our strategy and has shown great promise over its first few months. We expect growth this year, and certainly in year two, as well.”
Averaging 4 million weekly viewers this season, Page Six TV has grown 14% from October to November in households, according to FTS. Among adults 25-54, it is the No. 1 new first-run series, tying fellow newcomer and household leader Daily Mail TV, and is the second-youngest skewing magazine, behind TMZ, FTS adds.
Lawson added: “In an extremely competitive marketplace, we are thrilled that Page Six TV is resonating for our stations by delivering a younger, more dynamic, and completely ‘inside’ take on celebrity gossip.”
Page Six TV is hosted by John Fugelsang along with show insiders Bevy Smith (Bravo’s Fashion Queens),Variety entertainment reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister and New York Post Page Six senior reporter Carlos Greer. Page Six Editor Emily Smith and Deputy Editor Ian Mohr provide updates and insight, as well as exclusive first-looks into the latest breaking stories from the newsroom.
