Daniel Alvarez will be responsible for growing the NBC and Telemundo stations’ digital footprint to better serve bilingual audiences.
NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, the division of NBCUniversal that includes 38 NBC and Telemundo-owned stations, a regional news network and multicast networks Cozi TV and TeleXitos, today appointed Daniel Alvarez vice president of digital product management and design.
On the heels of NBCUniversal’s Owned Stations recently launched digital products, including individual station apps, Alvarez will be responsible for leading the division’s product and designs teams and creating innovative digital products for English and Spanish-speaking local audiences. He will report to Lora Dennis, SVP of digital media for NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.
“Our stations are leading the way local broadcasters deliver content to audiences by making news and information accessible 24/7 through their digital and mobile products. Daniel has extensive experience building award-winning products that will resonate with English and Spanish-speaking audiences and strengthen our team. He will explore new ways to expand our stations’ digital footprint with products that allow our local audiences to receive their news, weather and sports information wherever they go,” said Dennis.
A digital product manager and expert with more than 14 years of experience in the mobile and internet industry, Alvarez joins the NBC and Telemundo Owned Stations group after working as head of product and director of product management for HuffPost for two and a half years.
