NBC News Sets Broad Coronavirus Effort

The new initiative includes a 24/7 live-blog on nbcnews.com with the latest updates from the network’s medical, business, political and investigative reporters.

As coronavirus infections hit more than 80,000 cases across six continents, NBC News is introducing a network-wide initiative to cover the latest breaking news on the virus including:

  • A newly launched 24/7 live-blog with extensive video and the latest updates every few minutes from the network’s medical, business, political and investigative reporters with updates on known cases, locations and circumstances of new infections, and implications for financial markets and global economic impacts
  • A dedicated morning newsletter takeover — Morning Rundown Special Edition: Coronavirus Crisis — starting Monday with the latest from NBC News and MSNBC medical correspondent Dr. John Torres and updates on business and financial ramifications from Ali Velshi. Plus, tracking the global spread, keeping readers informed on how to prepare for a possible pandemic with prevention information and ways to stay safe
  • Exclusive expert interviews and singular reporting across NBC’s flagship news programs including:
    • A one-on-one interview this Sunday on Meet the Press with Vice President Mike Pence, newly appointed by President Trump to coordinate the U.S. response to the virus
