Idaho native Bob Thomas joins KBCI from KNDO/KNDU Yakima, Wash., where he was general sales manager.
Fisher Communications has turned to Bob Thomas to head KBCI Boise, Idaho, as vice president and general manager, it was announced this morning.
For the past five years, Thomas was the general sales manager at KNDO/KNDU Yakima, Washington. Prior to that, he was the general sales manager for four years at station KIVI Boise, and the general sales manager for 15 years at KMVT Twin Falls, Idaho.
Thomas is an Idaho native and a graduate of Idaho State University. “It’s great to be back in Boise,” Thomas said.
“Bob’s knowledge and experience in Idaho broadcasting will be a great asset to KBCI,” said Fisher VP Joe Lovejoy. “He will bring tremendous energy and commitment to Boise and KBCI.”
Fisher Communications owns nine network-affiliated television stations and 50% of a tenth. The company also announced today it is buying KWOG in Seattle, where it already owns KOMO. Fisher’s TV station are in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. The company also owns 27 radio stations in Washington and Montana.
