He moves across town to WBRE from New York Times-owned WNEP and will also oversee shared services and sales for Mission’s WYOU.
Nexstar Broadcasting Group today announced the appointment of Louis J. Abitabilo as vice president and general manager of its Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa., NBC affiliate WBRE. Nexstar also provides Mission Broadcasting with shared services and sales agreements for WYOU, the market’s CBS affiliate. Abitabilo will also oversee this function and will report to Timothy Busch, Nexstar’s senior vice president/regional manager.
For the past five years, Abitabilo was vice president, general sales manager and most recently as executive vice president and station manager of the market’s New York Times-owned ABC affiliate, WNEP. Prior to that he was regional vice president of citysearch.com in New York. From 1998 to 2000 he was director of national sales for Fox Net, a 24-hour cable and satellite delivery system and prior to that as vice president and general sales manager of WNYW, the Fox O&O in New York.
Abitabilo also was director of sales at WNBC New York and executive vice president of media and programming services for Bohbot Communications. In addition, he has previously held positions in local and national spot time sales and sales management.
