WMAR Improvises To Cover Its Own Story
The biggest story in Baltimore Tuesday happened inside the headquarters of the city’s ABC affiliate, WMAR, but for more than five hours, the reporters at the Scripps station couldn’t get on the air to cover it. They could only relay information via Twitter and the station’s website. As its rivals covered the story, WMAR aired network and syndicated programming until it went black at around 4 p.m. for more than an hour.
