Alyssa Charlston Joins KCPQ Seattle News

Fox O&O KCPQ Seattle has added Alyssa Charlston as a weekend sports anchor/reporter. She joins from KXLY Spokane, Wash., on June 1.

Charlston’s desire to tell stories and learn about people through sports began in college while playing basketball for the University of Idaho where she was a two-time first team All-Conference and two-time Capital One Academic All-America.

She then played basketball professionally in Luxembourg immediately after college. Her team won the national championship in Luxembourg in her solo season overseas, and she traveled all over Europe on her days off.

When Charlston returned to America, she dove right into a sports broadcasting career. First as a digital media correspondent for the Idaho Vandals, then as a videographer/digital media reporter and producer for the University of Washington. She covered one of the most successful sports seasons in UW history, with a Pac-12 football championship and the No. 1 overall NBA and WNBA draft picks of 2017.

She is also a Pac-12 Networks basketball analyst, serving as the only courtside analyst at the women’s  basketball tournament in 2021, covering eventual national champion the Stanford Cardinal.
