KDEN Promotes Rosy Zugasti To News Anchor

Telemundo-owned KDEN Denver (DMA 17) made Rosy Zugasti news anchor, effective immediately.

She will join co-anchor Miguel Bedoy and weather anchor Niurma Sánchez on Noticiero Telemundo Denver at 5 and 10 p.m.

Zugasti joined KDEN in January 2016 as a multimedia journalist. She served as the host of Desde el Capitolio, a weekly segment featuring interviews and the latest political news; covered the inauguration of Gov. Jared Polis; and also led the Telemundo Responde consumer investigative team, which solved more than 51 consumer inquiries in 2018.

Zugasti has been recognized with six Emmy awards and three Colorado Broadcaster’s Association (CBA) awards. Additionally, she has been recognized as best news anchor by both The National Academy of Television Heartland Chapter and the CBA.

Before joining KDEN, Zugasti worked as a multimedia journalist, fill-in news and weather anchor and producer at KINT El Paso, Texas, from 2011 to 2016.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Texas.
