KMIZ Columbia Adding 9 A.M., Noon News

Beginning Monday, Sept. 2, the News Press & Gazette-owned ABC affiliate in Missouri will increase its weekday news budget.

ABC 17 News at 9 AM will be anchored by Krsitie Reeter along with meteorologist Neville Miller. ABC 17 News at Noon will be anchored by Stephanie Schaefer along with meteorologist Justin Abraham.

“We are committed to bringing Mid-Missouri the latest and most up-to-date news in the market and with the addition of these two weekday newscasts we will be producing more local news than any local television station,” said Gene Steinberg, GM of KMIZ.

“Where The News Comes First is not a marketing line, it’s who we are.” said Curtis Varns, the station’s news director. “As Mid-Missouri continues to grow, the needs of our viewers do as well. These additional newscasts will allow us to stay on top of things changing hour-by-hour in the market,” added Varns.
