Nexstar Renews CBS Affiliation At 5 Stations

A new long-term agreement extends affiliation for five stations owned or operated by Nexstar: KGPE Fresno, Calif.; KREX Grand Junction, Colo; KLAS Las Vegas; WTAJ Altoona, Pa.; and WYOU Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa.

 

Nexstar Broadcasting Group today announced a long-term affiliation agreement with CBS covering KGPE Fresno, Calif.; KREX Grand Junction, Colo; KLAS Las Vegas; and WTAJ Altoona, Pa.

In addition, the station group said, its duopoly partner, Mission Broadcasting, renewed the affiliation for WYOU Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa.

“We are delighted to extend our affiliation agreement with CBS in these markets,” said Nexstar CEO Perry Sook. “We recognize the value that the strong slate of CBS programming brings to our stations.”

Ray Hopkins, president of network distribution for CBS, said he is pleased the stations will remain affiliates.”Nexstar has a proven record of providing local viewers with high-quality programming and strong community support and we look forward to reaching these audiences and continuing our long-time collaboration with Perry and his local teams for years to come.”

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
