Scripps, ABC Sign New Affiliation Deal

The E.W. Scripps Co.and ABC have signed a new five-year affiliation agreement covering 10 Scripps stations through December 2019. 

Included in this agreement are the Scripps stations in KERO Bakersfield, Calif.; WMAR Baltimore; WCPO Cincinnati; WEWS Cleveland; KMGH Denver; WXYZ Detroit; WRTV Indianapolis; KNXV Phoenix; KGTV San Diego; and WFTS Tampa, Fla. In June, Scripps acquired ABC affiliate WKBW Buffalo, N.Y., which remains under a separate agreement through the end of 2018.

Terms were not disclosed.

Ummm as I recall ABC TV didn’t start until the mid-1950s.

    EW Scripps had radio stations before TV Stations.

    ABC-TV commenced operations in 1948.
