Telemundo is celebrating a strong summer performance in primetime that has allowed the Spanish-language network to pull ahead of the long-dominant Univision in the adults 18-34 demographic for the first time.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Gizmodo Media Group, a division of Univision Communications, has sought to quickly defeat a defamation lawsuit brought over an article published on the sports website Deadspin, saying the complaint is intended to intimidate journalists. NBCUniversal Telemundo has signed a new exclusive content partnership with Vice Media. The partnership entails co-production of original documentary segments for Telemundo News and a one-hour hosted weekly show for Universo. Both programs are expected to debut in the fall.
