The anchor/news director of the Cowles NBC affiliate in Yakima, Wash., will head up the station and co-owned KNDO, succeeding Larry Forsgren who left in March. Brown’s co-anchor Shane Edinger becomes news director.

He joins the Macon, Ga., Fox affiliate from WJHG Panama City Beach, Fla., beginning July 30.

Chris Regimbal, a 19-year WDAZ  news veteran as a videographer and more recently as assignment editor, has been named news directorof the Forum Communications-owned ABC affiliate in Fargo, N.D.

Kevin Finch was named news director of McGraw-Hill ABC affiliate WRTV Indianapolis on Monday. He most recently was ND at WISH Indianapolis, a job he left in June, 2009. He’s been working on documentaries and freelancing since then

This week’s there’s one new news director and some updated information about an ND opening we first reported last week. That means the count of open ND jobs drops to 22.

We have four new NDs named this week…with three new openings. My count of open ND jobs stands at 23. Also this week, repeats of ads for news managers in Alabama and Virginia, and some updates to our list of Other News Management Jobs.

We have two new news directors in this week’s report, with no new openings. That brings our count of open ND jobs to just 22.

Each of our three new ND openings this week were created by promotions … and two of the now-former NDs are headed to GM jobs within their current company. We have one new news director to tell you about. That leaves our list of open ND jobs at 24.

Lots to report this week, not unusual for the first full week after a major rating period. That news includes two new news director openings, offset by two people named to fill ND positions. That leaves our count of open ND jobs at 22.

It’s a quiet week, with one new news director opening, while the smallest opening on our list is the one new ND job filled this week.  And I suspect this week will be quiet as well. Our count of open ND jobs remains at 21.
